Planning outfits for your beach photo session shouldn’t feel stressful, it should feel exciting. After all, these are the photos that will live on your walls, fill your albums, and remind you of this beautiful season of life. The goal? Timeless, natural, and beautifully coordinated without feeling overdone. I want every family session to feel relaxed, fun, and effortlessly beautiful. That’s why I’ve built a curated client closet designed to take the guesswork out of what to wear. But, you don't have to borrow from it, just know it is there is you want.
The Vision: Soft, Natural, and Timeless
Our beach sessions are all about connection...real moments, laughter, and emotion against the backdrop of Florida’s warm light and soft ocean tones. The clothing you choose plays a huge role in bringing that vision to life.
When selecting your outfits, think neutral and airy with soft pops of color. I love tones that complement the sand and sea:
- Soft blues and muted greens that reflect the ocean
- Creams, whites, and taupes for a clean, timeless look
- Subtle blushes or dusty rose for a hint of warmth
- Beige and linen textures that photograph beautifully in natural light
Avoid overly bright colors, bold patterns, or heavy fabrics...they can distract from the natural beauty of the setting (and from your connection as a family).
The Client Closet
I’ve curated pieces that fit the aesthetic of my sessions...light, flowy, and flattering on everyone. These dresses are made for movement, designed to catch the breeze and light up beautifully on camera. Each piece is carefully chosen to pair effortlessly with your family’s look, creating a cohesive color story that feels natural and organic—not too “matchy,” just perfectly balanced.
Coordinating the Whole Family
Here’s the secret: you don’t need to match—you need to complement. Once you’ve chosen your dress or anchor outfit, build the rest of the family’s looks around it.
- For dads: linen or cotton shirts in white, tan, or soft blue with rolled sleeves and neutral shorts.
- For boys: light, simple polos or henleys in coordinating tones with khaki or chambray shorts.
- For girls: flowy dresses or rompers in soft pastels, cream, or blush with simple details.
Keep it barefoot-friendly, relaxed, and timeless.
Why It Matters
When you feel comfortable and confident, it shows. The right wardrobe helps you relax, move freely, and truly enjoy the moment. It’s not about perfection—it’s about capturing your family exactly as you are, surrounded by color tones and textures that let your connection shine.
